Build Juneau’s Sustainability Fund. The fund was established to capitalize energy conservation projects and to educate Juneauites about the importance of energy conservation. Each funded project is expected to repay the fund over a period of not more than 10 years based on the energy savings achieved, thus freeing up monies for yet other projects. Examples of projects to be funded from the sustainability fund range from LED street lighting (more efficient and economical than conventional street lights) to ground source heat pumps.
