What is the most pressing need for the people in the City and Borough of Juneau? What is your plan to deal with that need?
Most pressing is the need to cope with the increased cost of fossil fuel, for home heating and autos. My plan is to (1) provide a transit system that can reduce the need to drive a car to work or shopping, and (2) reduce energy use in public buildings and the consumption of water in all forms throughout the community. I’ll work to implement the CBJ Transit Development Plan, improve our public building construction standards and expand our water metering program. Juneau needs to begin thinking of the waste of water as contributing to everyone’s energy costs.
Waste of water? My sump is pumping more water out of my crawl space than I could ever run out of my garden hose. How about issuing me a credit for the rain water I put back into the CBJ treatment plant?
